Pre-Viz 1+2

Nathan J

here are some pre-viz i was asked to put together for our project they're a little jumpy due to just wanting the timings and "key" poses.

pre-viz 1:

Spider-man is stood in front of the camera and is asked to portray a range of with his mask on they start off with happy and there is no real movement the director then asks for sad again there is only little movement. The more emotions that pass the angrier spider-man becomes this is visible by him "shaking" Finally the emotion anger comes up and he starts jumping around and waving his fists in the air appearing to go on a rampage and storms off stage.
Director applauds his performance for nailing the final emotion.
Director yells "CUT!", end of scene and fade to black.

Pre-viz 2:

Snap board comes on displaying the scene test a small repetitive joke is displayed along the bottom like the Simpsons blackboard.

Emotion scene test, trying to display a range of emotions through his mask but is unable to do so due to the limitations of having his face covered. The director yells out what emotions he wants shown starting with happy and ending in confused where he just shrugs his shoulders turns around and walks off.

Director yells cut!

End of scene fade to black

Snap board comes on displaying the scene test a small repetitive joke is displayed along the bottom like the Simpsons blackboard.

Spiderman is swinging round and something goes wrong with the green screen – in the background you get holiday destinations like Thorpe park, beach, star wars, star trek. Etc.

Everything Is set for a wall climbing sequence u believe he is until a person/objects rolls across shot ruining the believability – mor than one thing.

Director yells cut!

End of Scene fade to black

Snapboard

Peepinging tom

Director yells cut

End of scene fade to black

Snapboard

Jameson’s perverted picture obsession

Director yells cut

End of scene fade to black (with beep)

Snapboard

Upside down kiss

Web swinging with twist of hole in wall after being distracted by a hot girl

Snapboard
Spiderman is pointing offscreen with his other hand on something as though talking to an enemy, but when he takes his hand away the object is stuck to it – he waves his hand around for a bit and looks at the camera when he gives up.
Director yells cut!

Inbetween all of these after the fade to blacks is spider-man in different outfits trying to do a fast costume change.

Spiderman is walking around the set and his lower half is covered by a table/desk in the foreground when he walks past it u can c that the lower part of his costume is missing.

Spiderman just finishes the scene where hes looking into MJ’s window and then runs over to the womens changing rooms and looks in.
Animated set
Scene finishes, boards slide away , silhouette of woman in the background changing, spiderman crosses his legs and leans forward.

Hanging upside down scene test – first time he falls, second time mask wont come off, third time sick from being upside down,

Jameson walks offset walks into dressing room, locks door, opens cupboard full of slash fiction spiderman pics

One of the costume change/bloopers is where his costume has shrunk because its been washed – this can be the last one of the series as he finally gets the costume ‘right’

I took out Spiderman 1 & 2 and will watch them with my group to make notes etc. to try and make sure that the humour we want to create is appropriate
TODK

At this stage we are thinking to get lots of samples of Tobey Maguire and cut them up so that wecan fll in the maya bits

This shows all the possibilities we can have of behind the scenes gag's with things going wrong - for example on the part where the director shouts 3 2 1... and nothing happens for a while and then a crane smashes through the windows - it could be funny if nothing happens at all.

It also gives us camera positioning..

Some models

Nathan J

I have been given the task to model a lot of the objects, here are the models i have done so far. (please click for larger images)

Spiderman (WIP)

Mic-stand

Green-screen

Box-light

Most of these models with exception of the green screen were box-modeled from either cubes or cylinders.

Also for an alternate idea we have been researching into Movie Sets, as we may be doing Behind the scenes outtakes 'bloopers' involving the Actor Playing spiderman and the cast.

For our Script we can have the whole thing as an interview with Toby Maguire as he is talking about the times that things went wrong on the spiderman set. Every time he starts talking abot what happened it cuts to the animation of the event with 'Toby's' voice over it carrying on.

Or we can take Toby's voice and use wordplay (Leroy's idea) so for example when hes talking about spiderman being a hero we can show him pushing over a kid or something derogatory.

I personaly like this because it sorts out the audio - plus it can be very clever and effective.

We need to analyse this more as a group.

#Nathan: write a transcript of what Toby is saying#
